| An ION combines an information touchscreen with an elegant exhibit space and wraps them in an eyecatching, sculptural package. IONs are portable, completely weatherproof, energy efficient, and require minimal maintenance. Remotely updatable, the touchscreen content contains a full range of current, presorted local information, connected to a printer that produces full-sized copies of maps, menus, coupons, and selected information. |

| Existing methods of delivering local information are inadequate. A traveler approaches a wall of brochures (if they’re lucky enough to find one) and is often confronted with out-of-date or insufficient material. And the printing costs and manpower required to keep those paper-based sources current are increasingly prohibitive.
The other side of the information coin is the Internet, which is so vast and undigested that it's difficult for users to find current, accurate, local information.

| The ION is a bold new take on delivering local information. It is an exciting experience designed to satisfy the needs of tourists and residents alike, by providing reliably current information, 24 hours a day, while treating everyone to an ever-changing show of regional artwork.
Each kiosk is itself a piece of public sculpturean innovative combination of content delivery, targeted marketing, and public art.
Our immediate goal is to establish a network of kiosks throughout a region, consisting not only of our larger outdoor units, but also including our smaller, indoor/outdoor model, ideal for restaurants, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, or anywhere space is at a premium.
The prototype large ION kiosk currently resides outside the Bennington Museum (Bennington VT), where it is undergoing several tests.
